Welcome to Breakthrough Fitness!

Hi! Welcome to Breakthrough Fitness MN! I started Breakthrough Fitness MN with a little seed of an idea and a passion! For the last six years, I crafted my skills as a trainer and an entrepreneur. As I developed these skills my passion for helping adults find ways to exercise that not only helped them physically grow stronger, but also grew mentally stronger. I believe strength training can be so much more than a workout. It can mean overcoming an injury, gaining confidence, getting rid of medication, maintaining independence while aging, and so much more! These are just a few client “wins” I’ve seen over the years. I also recognized a gap in exercise – accessibility and sustainability to high quality exercise programs personalized to the individual for best results. Don’t get me wrong, you can google “workout” and get a million hits, but these general programs aren’t personalized to each person and people get discouraged and quit or worse, they get injured because they received bad advice. From my own experience, I realized with some personalization and accountability, my clients saw results and were able to maintain their routine for years, so I saw an opportunity and in 2023 I was gifted the perfect opportunity to start my own business!


When I started Breakthrough Fitness MN, I kept coming back to the fact that I needed to build my business around accessibility and sustainability for our clients while also providing a place for trainers to build sustainable careers. I wanted to design a personal training studio that didn’t feel too intimidating and “gym-like” but also didn’t feel too frufru to benefit from. When you walk in our door, we are genuinely happy to see you! One of our core values is community because that is what we want to build. We want to build a community of clients and trainers who support one another for each of our individual goals. We don’t want anyone to feel like they don’t belong because we know what it feels like to walk into a gym for the first time and feel like everyone is staring and you don’t know what the heck you’re doing. We are there for you! That is just a part of the accessibility piece. The second part is offering a variety of services and different price points to accommodate different budgets.


A big part of what makes our personal training studio unique is our trainers. We require our trainers have a bachelor’s degree in a related field, so they have a comprehensive understanding of the human body. The average person wouldn’t know the difference between different personal training certifications, but the reality is that anyone can go take an online course and be a “certified personal trainer”, but that education isn’t the same. This is a huge issue in our field and one of the reasons another one of our core values is education. We hold our trainers to high standards and believe in continuing our education so that we are experts in our field. We also collaborate with other professionals to work with clients who have injuries or health conditions that require special attention. We hold these high standards of ourselves because we believe our clients deserve the best care possible when training with us. I also bring this back to accessibility – everyone deserves to understand how their body should work and what will work for them!


I’ve talked a lot about accessibility but not sustainability. This is where our training style comes in. We follow a training model that only requires clients to strength train 1-2 days per week and benefit. When you look at the research and compare styles of exercise, strength training is the biggest bang for your buck when performed properly. We bring everything back to the model that asks the question: “What is the minimum requirement for best results?” We follow this because we also believe that strength training and exercise is only a piece of living a healthy lifestyle. We know that this can’t be the only thing you do to take care of yourself so we can’t ask that you spend an hour or more daily working out. That just isn’t sustainable for most people. Therefore, we offer a variety of services to accommodate each client’s individual needs whether they want to train with us once a week or come in a daily to strength train and use the space for cardio/stretching. This is how exercise and specifically strength training for long term health is sustainable, and our expert trainers work with you while you go through different life phases to guide you through! We will always have your best interests and goals in mind!

Starting Breakthrough Fitness MN has been one of the biggest accomplishments of my life so far and although I’ve faced a few challenges already, nothing compares to the joy I feel spending time at studio or online with our clients. It’s been amazing to see my dream brought to life and I can’t imagine doing anything else! I’ve always had a passion for helping others and this is how I want to do that! I love working with a variety of people work toward a variety of different goals. I believe exercise and strength training can give you confidence in your body that is so much more than how you look.
