The Brain Muscle Connection

When we think about strength training, we often focus on muscle growth and body changes. However, we frequently overlook the important neuromuscular changes that occur.

So, what are neuromuscular changes? They refer to the connection between your muscles and your brain, as well as how your body reacts to movement.

In strength training, we're not just building muscle; we're improving the communication system that helps your brain interpret what’s happening in your body. For example, when you lift a weight, your brain signals to your muscles, allowing you to move effectively.

This improved connection plays a vital role in preventing falls. The stronger you are and the more you train, the better your neuromuscular connection becomes. If you trip and fall, a well-trained body can quickly call upon your brain to instruct your muscles to react, helping you catch yourself and avoid injury.

Moreover, having more muscle mass can reduce your risk of injury if you do happen to fall, but that’s a topic for another time.

For now, let's focus on the brain-muscle connection. If you're interested in learning more about how your brain and muscles communicate, reach out to Breakthrough Fitness. We’d love to discuss it further!
